Overview

Timeless elegance paired with a passion for painting the female form is probably the most concise summary one can come to for the works of Ingrid Boot; her 'little ladies' are quite simply, darling-ly devine.

Little Ladies of Leisure is Ingrid's second solo exhibition and will be on show at the Parnell Gallery for the greater part of March.

Ingrid's illustrative style sees her ladies as long and slender with elongated legs, arms and neck, emphasising their femininity. Her love of vintage fashion also really comes through in their outfits. Everything from 50s swimsuits or vintage golfing hats - there is something to be noted for the way these little ones put together an outfit. No detail is left uncovered either, from the ruffles on a swimsuit to the lacy trim on a dress. I'd make a bet that a common chorus after seeing the collection will be something along the lines of "oh how darling!".

If nothing else, Little Ladies Of Leisure is an exhibition to take your Mum to, followed by an English Breakfast and possibly a pink lamington. Oh, go on then.
