Jack Trolove

Large scale painted portraits exploring the relationships between embodiment and liminal spaces.

Overview

Trolove's large scale painted portraits are incredible and begging to be devoured. He says they are a kind of re-membering.

His work explores the relationships between embodiment and liminal spaces, states of in-between-ness including gender transition and intergenerational memory.

He works with speed, layering the paint with a palette knife while the paint is still wet. Check out his Instagram for some serious artist studio envy and get a behind the scenes look at his process.

Hear him talk about his latest body of work on Saturday 14 October, 2 pm in the gallery.
