K Road Christmas Carnival

If for no other reason, go to K Road on Friday because there's going to be a Christmas fairy handing out K-Bars. Enough said.

Overview

I've decided that Christmas on a Sunday is the ultimate win. The working year signs off on Friday, you get Saturday as a bonus, Monday is Boxing Day and Tuesday is Christmas Holiday observed (the best invention of a stat day, like, ever). So, when K Road decided to throw a party in spirit of 'the night before Christmas', it's not really the night before, but the way that the calendar falls this year, Friday still kinda counts.

Kicking off at 4pm, St Kevin's Arcade on K Road will become a hub of free festivities, including a host of circus characters and a candy floss Christmas fairy  handing out chocolatey treats, freshly made floss and Whittakers K-Bars. Yes, that's right kids of the 90s, K-BARS . I am so there.

After your sugar hit, take a stroll up and down the strip for some late night present shopping, with the shops staying open til 8pm. Once you've ticked that off your list, Wine Cellar and Whammy Bar are opening their doors for a night of festive entertainment and Christmas Special Cooper's Beer.

The musical line up of Dr Colossus, Tiny Ruins, Bannerman, Lisa Crawley, Reb Fountain & The Bandits, Gundry Blues, Brendan Turner and Callum Gentleman, is set to provide entertainment right through the night, keeping you and your mates jolly. I'm not gonna lie, I don't know who any of those people are. But google says good things.

So, make sure you kick start your Christmas weekend off on the right note. You've got the whole of Saturday to run those last minute errands, and to be fair, wrapping prezzies doesn't require too much brain power. It'll still get done even if you've been out partying with fairies all night on K Road. Go on, it's only festively fitting.
