Overview

Ska/punk/rockabilly can always get the crowds moving. One of my earliest festival memories was catching the drumsticks from the drummer from Living End as I moshed in a sweat-drenched Boiler Room. From Busted CD's to the Van's WarpTour - Ska punk was the sound of the eternal summer and everything that came with it.

Well welcome news for music lovers is that the newest export in the genre is performing in New Zealand later this month.  Introducing the King Cannons - slick not only in their look but also in their sound.

From Springsteen to the The Clash, Chuck Berry to the ease of a Jamaican Sunday, King Cannons play with ferocity and passion but maintain a certain chill that exudes classic cool. With members originally from Auckland, this band is currently making a name for themselves with the lead single 'Stand Right Up' currently taking to the charts like a comb through freshly gelled hair.

The Melbourne-based band have recently finished their debut album with none other than Tom Larkin from Shiahd so expect it loud and harder than a Doc Marten boot to the head!
