The Auckland Museum series of evening events LATE at the Museum are back for 2015. With Auckland city celebrating its 175th year, season eight of LATE dedicates four nights to exploring contemporary themes of our city Tamaki Makaurau.

Songs of the City, the first in the LATE night series, takes the audience on a journey through music inspired by or created in Auckland. The panel of speakers are just as vibrant as the music scene itself. Russell Brown, moderator for the evening is an accomplished music broadcaster, journalist and DJ who also holds the title of throwing NZ's first acid house party in 1989. He'll keep the four panellists Phil Bell (DJ Sir Vere),  Dave Dobbyn, Rachel Lang (co-creator of TV series Outrageous Fortune) and Audioculture's Simon Grigg on topic, as they discuss the impact of 'Auckland music' and their experiences with the industry and culture.

The audience will also be treated to a curated set by DJ Sir Vere, and performances by Dave Dobbyn and award-winning musician Emma Paki. LATE at the Museum: Songs of the City runs from 6pm to 9pm in the Auckland Museum Events Centre.
