LATE: Slacktivism to Activism

Overview

When you've finished work for the evening and it's almost pitch black outside, not to mention cold and let's face it, most likely also raining - there is not a more perfect social event to head to than Auckland Musuem's LATE series.

LATE at the Museum is a series of panel discussions held over the winter months in the absolutely stunning Museum atrium (that gorgeous glass structure that sits a top of the Museum). With 360 degree panoramic views of Auckland, you get to cozy up with a glass of wine and a few nibbles and listen to some of biggest issues being pulled apart by a panel of well-informed speakers.

The next LATE talk takes a look at the current climate of activism in the age of the internet and, chaired by journalist and media commentator Russell Brown, features a lineup of speakers who are sure to leave you walking away with a thousand thoughts going through your head.

Director of campaigns at ActionStation Laura O'Connell Rapira will be on the panel with cartoonist and illustrator Toby Morris, environmental activist and senior campaign advisor for Greenpeace New Zealand Steve Abel and activist and commentator on indigenous rights, Sina Brown-Davis.
