Overview

You could be forgiven for walking into Ponsonby Social Club this Saturday night and thinking you'd somehow ended up in South America. If this happens, don't panic and think you've forgotten to pack a light jacket and enough t-shirts; it's just the Latin-funk hiphop vibes of Latinaotearoa hitting your ears.

The laidback and soulful tunes of the local act may leave you confused as to your whereabouts, but one thing you'll be sure of is that they make you feel damn good. Seamlessly blending their favourite parts from the New Zealand and South American music scenes, the trio has created a locally Latin sound that is as authentic as it is unique.

Auckland DJ with Brazilian roots Bobby Brazuka, magnetic Venezuelan vocalist Jennifer Zea and talented trumpeter and producer Isaac Aesili have been building a fan base both here and abroad over the past few years. They'll indulge Auckland audiences in Saturday's gig – with support from Dylan C – before heading over the ditch to play shows there at the end of the month.
