Overview

Brooklyn-based electronic artist Laurel Halo will embark on a tour of New Zealand throughout September, stopping by at Auckland's Whammy Bar on Wednesday the 18th.

Challenging the boundaries between techno, ambient, pop concrete, dub and synthetic psychedelia, Halo's debut album Quarantine released through London label Hyperdub was named the Wire magazine's #1 album of the year for 2012 and has seen her receive praise from heavy-hitting media including the New York Times and Pitchfork. Her follow-up EP Behind The Green Door is boasted to explore "the sexually charged common ground between abstract electronics and club-driven beats."

Laurel Halo's Auckland show will feature special guests Totems and Dawn Marble.
