Le Basement XXXmas Cabaret

Overview

Basement Theatre's much-loved Christmas show making its triumphant return for the silly season. While previous productions have been set aboard the International Space Station and during end-of-year work parties, this year's event is an adults-only comedy featuring original music and sultry storylines.

Le Basement XXXmas Cabaret was crafted by Billy T award-winner Kura Forrester and Hayley Sproull (of The Great Kiwi Bake Off and Have You Been Paying Attention?). The once famous and thriving Le Basement Cabaret Club is in jeopardy, having fallen on hard times in 2020. The owners have booked a famous Kiwi musician to play a set that will hopefully save the club — bringing their audience and reputation back from the brink, and turning the fate of the club around. Will they pull it off? Will their reputation be reborn? And will love prevail?

This year's show boasts an all-star lineup, including core cast members Ava Diakhaby, Bryony Skillington, Brynley Stent, as well as a rotating roster of Kiwi singers and musicians, from Tina Cross to Julia Deans, Jackie Clarke, Liam Finn, K'Lee, Nathan King, and more.

The annual Christmas show is the largest fundraiser for Basement Theatre. Le Basement XXXmas Cabaret runs from 19 November to 19 December.
