Beatles fans will be excited to hear that Let It Be, one of the most successful Beatles tributes yet, it coming to New Zealand to play 13 shows through March and April. Critically acclaimed through their tour of the UK and Ireland, the show has also spent a successful three seasons playing at the West End theatre in London to crowds that never once wavered.
If you know the story behind the Beatles’ initial formation by a sixteen-year-old John Lennon in Liverpool 1960, to their conversion from the Blackjacks to the Quarrymen to the Silver Beetles before finally settling on the Beatles. The show starts from the very beginnings, highlighting the very first musical stylings of the young group, right through to their increasingly popularity, to full blown Beatlemania, and to their break up in 1970.
Let It Be not only tells the story of the iconic band, but also showcases over twenty of their hits including 'Twist and Shout', 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' and 'Hard Day’s Night'. If you lived the Beatles craze personally, or caught onto the Beatles buzz after singing 'Yellow Submarine' on repeat at school, Let It Be promises to be the closest you’ll get to the real thing.
