Overview

Auckland's Lowbrow is a destination for sandos, buckets of free-range wings, soft-serve sundaes and fried birthday cake.

As part of Welly On a Plate, the Lowbrow team is bringing its highbrow fast-food to the capital. The one-off lunch pop-up at Shepherd Restaurant on Saturday, October 10 will feature fresh and casual food with natty wines and good beers to match.

If the northern outposts are anything to go by that might mean you'll be wolfing down nacho fried pickles, firecracker wings, pull-apart garlic bread and cornflake fried chicken burgers. Entry is free, just pay on consumption.

Visa Wellington On a Plate is set to return for its 12th year from 1–31 October with more than 100 flavour-packed events, special dining menus, burgers and craft cocktails.
