LynnMall Turns 60

Overview

New Zealand's first indoor shopping centre LynnMall is turning 60 years old on Monday, October 30, and the team is celebrating the milestone in a big way.

A fixture in the west Auckland community for six decades, LynnMall is known for everything from striking fashion displays at Farmers to competitive baby shows. While the mall won't be offering bed-making competitions like it did in the 60s and 70s, there's many other events and special offers for loyal locals to enjoy throughout the mall's birthday month.

Many of these offers have been created with the mall's history in mind, right down to the price of coffee. From Monday, October 9–Wednesday, October 11, coffee lovers will be able to purchase a cuppa for only 35 cents, the same price that a cup of coffee was in 1963. The cheap-as-chips deal will be available to purchase inside Bodrum Kitchen, Espresso Caffe, Kage, Muffin Break, Starbucks and The Coffee Club after customers have picked up their 35-cent voucher at the LynnMall customer service desk.

The following week, customers will be able to save their hard-earned cash with $6 food deals, which are available from Monday, October 23–Sunday, October 29 from Bodrum Kitchen, Dunkin Donuts, Foo Du, Kage, Muffin Break, Rolls of Vietnam, Starbucks and Upper Crust.

If you enjoy too many $6 treats, go burn off the extra energy by trying out some of the nostalgic games set up outside Number One Shoes. Until Sunday, October 29, you can try out the early versions of video games by giving Pacman or Space Invaders a go, or put your coordination skills to the test with cornhole and mini golf.
