Macbeth – Shakespeare in the Park

It is good. It was also meant to be enjoyed live, with a few drinks, while standing around with friends as the summer evening settles above you at North Shore’s iconic amphitheatre venue.

Overview

Eyeball. Puking. Skim milk. Wormhole. Epileptic. Alligator. A mixture of words from a madman perhaps – but all invented by William Shakespeare the baddest mofo in the literature valley. "I don't like Shakespeare," you say, "I hated English class". A fair point but believe me, you don't 'get' Shakespeare until you've seen it performed live – and now is your chance.

Macbeth, probably my favourite tale by 'The Bard' is an exciting story of murder, intrigue, people going completely insane, a weird old man discussing his brewers droop and the ambition of a man spurred on by his wife who kills his way to the Scottish throne and final retribution.

Yes, to enjoy it you actually have to pay attention – but as one of the most famous writers in the history of everything – it can't be overstated that there is a reason his work endures the centuries. It is good. It was also meant to be enjoyed live, with a few drinks, while standing around with friends as the summer evening settles above you at North Shore’s iconic amphitheatre venue.
