Made Active: The Chartwell Show
Made Active: The Chartwell Show explores ideas of action through the diverse work of sculpture, performance and installation artists.
Overview
Climb to the Auckland Art Gallery's highest level and you'll come across works suspended between inactivity and activity. Explore ideas of action through the diverse work of sculpture, performance and installation artists, such as Alicia Frankovich, Jim Allen, Daniel Malone and Simon Denny.
The works are drawn from the Chartwell Collection, an independent body whose collection of approximately 1300 works of New Zealand and Australian contemporary art has been acquired over the past 25 years. Made Active is full of potential: the potential for everyday objects to be art, for artists to activate our surroundings and for you the viewer to be the catalyst that creates meaning or response.
