Manchester Orchestra
Not from Britain and not a large instrumental ensemble.
Overview
They’re not from Britain and they surely don’t sound like a large instrumental ensemble, but Manchester Orchestra will make their New Zealand debut at Auckland’s The Powerstation on November 17.
The Atlanta rock band formed in 2004 and have released four albums with a rotating cast of band members. The current incarnation includes founding member and songwiter Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, keyboardist/percussionist Chris Freeman, bassist Andy Prince and drummer Tim Very. The band will use the visit down under to perform their latest full-length album, Cope, along with tracks from their extensive back catalogue.
They will be supported by Auckland rock band Clap Clap Riot and Brooklyn folk songwriter Kevin Devine.
