What better is there to do on a cold winter's evening than head out to an event that is sure to warm the cockles.

Meet the Makers is a wine-tasting event that gives you the opportunity to chat to the makers behind your favourite tipple. There's over 60 superb wines for you to try, so be sure to remember: responsible drinking is an attractive quality.

The New Zealand Wine Society are the good folk behind this event and they're bringing in Jo Gear, Jeremy McKenzie, Nick Badrice and Vic Williams for a tasting panel, so if yours isn't the most delicate of palates, they'll give you the low down on the fine notes and subtle flavours.

Being winter, Meet the Makers of course is an indoor affair and the organisers have found the perfect venue: the Grand Tearoom of the Heritage Auckland. How fancy.
