Morning People 4th Birthday
Auckland's pre-work rave is turning four.
Overview
Since its inception in 2016, Morning People has developed a cult following and attracted some of New Zealand's best DJs, including the likes of Aroha, Greg Churchill, Dan Aux, Sambora (from Shapeshifter) and electronic live act Yoko Zuna. The hump day morning rave was started by co-founders Vanessa Scott and Jamie Newman — who also introduced the No Lights No Lycra concept to New Zealand.
Kicking off at 6.30am, the parties are drug and alcohol-free and participants are encourage to let loose and get sweaty. To celebrate four years of pre-work parties Morning People is bringing global dance act Weird Together Soundsystem to the inner city.
The $20 entry fee includes bottomless coffee, fresh fruit and juice — and there will be cake to mark the occasion. Attendees are encouraged to dress to the nines – animal prints, frocks, smoking jackets, dressing gowns, pyjamas are all welcome. Start your day with a rave like no other.
