Overview

Since its inception in 2016, Morning People has developed a cult following and attracted some of New Zealand's best DJs, including the likes of Aroha, Greg Churchill, Dan Aux, Sambora (from Shapeshifter) and electronic live act Yoko Zuna. The hump day morning rave was started by co-founders Vanessa Scott and Jamie Newman — who also introduced the No Lights No Lycra concept to New Zealand.

Kicking off at 7am, the parties are drug and alcohol-free and participants are encourage to let loose and get sweaty. For the next instalment Morning People is heading to Waiheke as part of Auckland Council's Summanova campaign. You can get amongst those feel-good Morning People vibes under a canopy of nikau palms at Rangihoua Estate on Saturday, April 3.

The party will be led by one half of deep house production electronic duo Out of Sorts. The two-hour rave from 9.30–11.30am includes bottomless cups of Altezano Brothers Coffee, fruit and Club-Mate.

For party people planning the trip from the mainland, there is an 8am ferry from the Downtown Ferry Terminal. Pre-purchased charter buses will meet the ferry and get you to the party and back, at a cost of $5 plus booking fee each way.
