Overview
If you've ever looked up at the stars and wondered … about where to enjoy a night of quality cinema in an unexpected and memorable location, worry no more. MOTAT Movie Month is making a return in 2023 with its latest lineup of after-dark movie screenings. This year, moviegoers will be taking off to deep space.
MOTAT movie month presents popular films after dark every week in the museum's Aviation Hall. These 18+ events start with food trucks from 5pm before doors (plus the cash bar and live music) open from 6pm and the screenings kick off at 7pm. Your $15 ticket includes access to the museum and screening, and you have five screenings to pick from.
The program starts on Thursday, August 3, with a screening of the timeless Star Trek: First Contact, alongside a Star Trek cosplay competition. Then on Wednesday, August 9, catch the novel-adapted comedy A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
On Thursday, August 10, the mind-bending cult classic Moon takes to the screen, followed by the Oscar-nominated story of NASA's early days and the African-American women who played a key role in them, Hidden Figures on Wednesday, August 16. Finally, on Thursday, August 17, the series closes with the harrowing true story of Apollo 13.
