Overview

Set within native bush overlooking NZ's wildest West Coast Beach, the first Waitangi Day Muriwai Festival is a festival with a difference. It's an opportunity for families to drive past the strawberry fields and vineyards of Kumeu to a quiet clearing of native bush. Just 35 minutes from Ponsonby Rd and a short walk from one of NZ's most spectacular surf beaches, Anika Moa, Moana & the Tribe, Pacific Curls, Nat Rose, Majic and more will be singing the tune that ‘Every Day is Waitangi Day.’

Over 15 painters, photographers, sculptors, jewellers etc that live in and around Muriwai Beach will be creating new works for sale as part of a special Waitangi Day Exhibition. A hikoi to sacred sites at the venue and guests getting grilled onstage in ‘the Hot Seat, then a hangi-in-a-pie...something for everyone.
