Overview

Spend a lazy day drinking vino, enjoying the vines and listening to some of the best music New Zealand has to offer at Music at Matua. The mini festival is now in its third year, and they’re boasting their best line-up yet. Fly My Pretties, the local collaborative group consisting of some of our finest contemporary musicians, are headlining the show, and it’s their first and only of the summer.

This time they’re bringing along 15 talented musicians ready to play three straight hours, spanning all five of their albums as well as some new material thrown in for good measure. FMP aside, 21 year old eclectic musician Estere will be opening the stage, along with her MPC which she has lovingly named Lola. Another stage warmer is The Nudge, known for producing multi-genre, psychedelic sounds, and made up of three of the members of Fly My Pretties: Ryan Prebble, James Coyle and Iraia Whakamoe,

Upon entry, grab an antipasto picnic from local baker Allison Mawer, so you can enjoy some soft cheese and fresh olives as you relax. Catch a bus to Matua if you’re planning on having a few. It leaves from Tournament on Sale Street  at 12pm, and returns to the same place at 7pm.
