Overview

The weekly music series that is Music & People helps to kick off festivities at 1885 for New Zealand Music Month.

Auckland-based band, Mali Mali are the first act to don the Music & People headliners tag for NZ Music Month. The group will perform in the main 1885 bar, and take on a bit of Q&A prior to doing this. Mali Mali's name is derived from Ben Tolich's Croatian grandfather who would always call him 'Mali' which meant little boy. He also shares his birthday date with the Malian day of Independence. The name Mali was then doubled up, as Mali was already taken. Fair enough. Find out more at Music and People.
