New Zealand Culinary Fare

It's primarily a trade event, but don't let that put you off as there's plenty to keep even the most inexperienced of foodies watered and well-fed for the day.

Overview

Got a bent for all things culinary? This year, the New Zealand Culinary Fare is opening its doors to the public for one day only, and best of all, it's free.

The largest culinary competition in the southern hemisphere, the New Zealand Culinary Fare plays host to more than 1000 competitors and 6000 visitors.

It's primarily a trade event, but don't let that put you off as there's plenty to keep even the most inexperienced of foodies watered and well-fed for the day.

There'll be free bacon butties and half price coffees for earlybirds more accustomed to keeping hospitality industry hours, as well as the chef of the year finals - complete with frantic 90 minute cook-off - cocktail competitions, a margarine sculpture and plenty of giveaways.
