Overview

The flagship Auckland property for QT Hotels & Resorts will open its doors to the public from 1 November, 2020. Found on the edge of the waterfront at 4 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, QT Auckland will be the tenth property for the boutique hotel group and the third in New Zealand. The brand is particularly known for its flashy interior design — QT Wellington houses the largest privately-owned collection of art in New Zealand.

For the Auckland edition, QT says long-time collaborator and designer Nic Graham has drawn inspiration from the oyster and the oyster trawler to present "quirky luxury," across the 150 rooms, public spaces, signature restaurant from Sean Connolly and rooftop bar.

To celebrate the opening, the hotel is giving away 150 rooms across a five-day treasure hunt. From Tuesday, 27 October to Saturday, 31 October, Aucklanders can locate special QT Auckland posters shaped as doors, where keys are secured within lock boxes. To win a key, treasure hunters must crack the code.

One code is released daily from the QT Auckland Staycay website and can be used to crack the lock boxes for that day. There are 30 keys to be found per day in the suburbs of Auckland CBD, Wynyard Quarter, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Newmarket and Kingsland. Each key rewards the finder with a free one-night stay.

A drivers licence and credit card will be required when redeeming the prize and winners have 12 months to redeem their one-night stay.
