Overview

The cobbled footing of O'Connell Street may not exactly scream 'life on the islands', but the inner city space will pay tribute to culture and cuisine of the South Pacific when Auckland Restaurant Month arrives this August.

Dubbed OperaNesian, the four-hour event will celebrate the food, culture and the success of Polynesian performers on the opera stage. Attendees will have the opportunity to dine on Pacific-themed menus at participating restaurants, sip Polynesian inspired cocktails and enjoy free on-street entertainment courtesy of operatic quartet Operanesia, the Youth Brass Band and Vakahine.

Entry and entertainment is free; food and drinks will be available for purchase at participating venues.
