Otahuhu Ethnic Food Festival

Celebrating the diverse range of food and cultures in our fine city.

Overview

Auckland is a bonafide melting pot of cultures, something that translates to an incredibly diverse range of food available throughout the city; from the pot-sticker dumplings of Balmoral, the biryani of Sandringham, the island doughnuts of Otara, and the hand-fed wagyu eye fillet with truffle oil, vine-ripened tomatoes, balsamic reduction and dehydrated lettuce from Ponsonby. Otahuhu’s Ethnic Food Festival is here to celebrate exactly that (well, the former anyway). On Saturday 10 October, the suburb’s main strip between Mason and Hall Ave will host over 50 stalls of cuisine from cultures around the globe.

There will be everything from travelling food vendors Coreana serving up their Korean fusion, authentic Dutch chip-makers Double Dutch Fries, American street-food enthusiasts Murica Freedom Food, Achos who specialise in New York-styled Chinese buns, Hamilton Vietnamese street food cart On A Roll, Canadian poutine-ry Southern Fries, Toro Churro, Zina's Brazilian Savouries, Fiji Curry House, and plenty more to keep you humming throughout the day.

To quell (or perhaps further enhance) the food sweats, a lineup of local acts will perform on a pop-up stage. Performers include members of hip hop group Smashproof Tyree and Deach, local rappers K.One and PNC, reggae vocalist Swiss, and DJ Sirvere.
