Overview

Returning for its fourth year on Saturday, 29 September, Otahuhu Food Festival 2018 promises to be the biggest event yet. Otahuhu Town Centre will be closed to traffic from Park Avenue to Station Road and over 130 food stalls, trucks and caravans will line the streets.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the festival will feature a wide range of local and international cuisines with over 30 different ethnicities represented — think hand-rolled German pretzels, Turkish gozleme, traditional hāngi, Argentinean barbecue and ice cream served in whole pineapples. Those with specific food preferences need not be afraid; vegan, gluten-free and even keto options will be available to enjoy.

In addition to delicious food and beverages on offer, this year there is also the non-edible addition of the Urban Sales Street which will feature henna art and handcrafted jewellery and crafts.

A variety of performers, from soulful sibling duo Adeze to barbecue reggae group Three Houses Down, will grace the stage throughout the day to entertain the crowds that will no doubt be in attendance.
