Oyster & Wine Festival Matakana

Overview

Given its close proximity to Mahurangi Harbour, Matakana serves as the perfect location to host a festival dedicated to oysters. For this year's edition of the suitably-titled Oyster & Wine Festival Matakana local oyster farmers will be shucking up a storm and serving their delights both au naturel and paired with local wines.

The all-weather event at Matakana Country Park on Sunday, 7 October will come alive with oyster shucking competitions, live music, cooking and wine demonstrations, and arts and crafts. Those not too keen on sampling briny bivalves will still have plenty alternative seafood and cuisine options to choose from.

So you can take full advantage of the vino on show, return coaches will be leaving from the Auckland Ferry Building and Smales Farm. Book your seat in the ticket packages.
