Pickle Week

Overview

International Pickle Day is officially recognised on Thursday, November 14, and to celebrate more than 30 eateries across the country are introducing mouthwatering and outright bonkers menu additions for an entire week.

American pickle company McClure's and local distributor Cook & Nelson are behind the drive, while Auckland restaurants including Burger Burger, Best Ugly, Dr Rudi's Rooftop Brewing Co., and Wynyard Pavilion will be getting into the spirit with themed dishes.

Eateries will be serving items from deep fried pickles and pickle-loaded potato skins to the more adventurous pickle milkshake and Duck Island pickle ice cream. Diners will also be able to wash down the zing of spiced gherkin with some pickle-infused drinks, including Culprit's whiskey sour made with brine.

There are 32 eateries from Auckland to Queenstown involved. The International Pickle Day dishes will be available from November 11–17.
