Pinot Palooza 2017
Five hours. One glass. 100 wines to taste.
Overview
After a thrilling debut last year, the event recognised as 'the largest Pinot Noir festival in Australasia' is heading back to our shores with the crowd-pulling featuring of unlimited wine tastings.
Pinot Palooza lands courtesy of Bottle Shop Concepts, the people who brought us Game of Thrones-themed wine tasting event Game of Rhones and something called "wine edutainment". Rather than confuse punters with umpteen varietals of buttery chards, the event focusses purely on the best Pinot Noir from across New Zealand and Australia. Over 60 wineries will be involved in 2017, including: Waipara's Black Estate, Queenstown's Gibbston Valley, Cromwell's Mt Difficulty, and Central Otago's Akarua.
The best part is that unlimited wine tastes are included in the $60 ticket price tag. The enhanced VIP option ($100) will also give wine hounds to have their fill with early access from midday, a personally curated experience from a top sommelier and a food voucher. To soak up all that vino, a selection of food vendors will be on hand. Stay tuned for more info.
