Overview

Off the back of a performance at WOMAD festival in New Plymouth, St. Louis musician Pokey LaFarge will play a string of shows around the country including the Tuning Fork on March 18.

Signed to Jack White's Third Man Records, LaFarge has forged his own unique path performing a blend of American roots, combining genres hot swing, early jazz and ragtime blues. His self-titled seventh album saw him pick up Best Americana Album at the Independent Music Awards for the second time last year, and he has clocked up touring miles with his label manager Jack White, The Raconteurs, Wanda Jackson and Old Crow Medicine Show.

He will perform alongside a five-piece backing band including Joey Glynn (bass), Adam Hoskins (guitar) and Ryan Koenig (harmonica, washboard, and snare drum) TJ Muller (cornet, trombone) and Chloe Feoranzo (clarinet, saxophone).
