Overview

Detroit post punks, Protomartyr, have finally made the long haul flight to play their first ever New Zealand shows.

Their tour through Australasia has been a showcase of their most recent album, Relatives in Descent. The album itself been highly acclaimed, featuring in the New York Times as Album of the Week shortly after its release. On the back of its success, the band themselves have anticipated this journey just as much as the fans. Therefore, there is no doubt they will bring that energy to the stage at Auckland's Whammy Bar.

Whammy as a dark, underground venue will create an ideal intimate setting to soak in the mood and lyrics. Not to mention, the album's roaring singles, 'Don't Go to Anacita' and 'A Private Understanding' will fit the atmosphere perfectly as the storms roll in over the tavern.

Tickets are available online and at local record stores.
