Overview
It may seem like a lifetime away, but it's less than a month until we get our next public holiday hit. Like the addicts we are, we're already planning ahead so we can utilise every second of that bonus time off, hence our excitement for the Queen's Birthday Markets.
This is the third year the markets have filled the waterfront's Shed 10 with an array of culinary delights and Kiwi crafts. Promising the quirky, the quant and everything in between, we've been stalking the Facebook page and scoping out what loot we might score.
So far we've been tempted by the presence of Union Jacks food, selling British goodies from the continent, free floral crown workshops (for the little ones and the millenial ones) and bright vintage clothing stalls paired with some good ol' grub.
The market is free and Shed 10 is a pretty easy train or bus ride from most places in Auckland. A day out exploring the city and supporting local New Zealand creatives seems like it can't really be a wasted outing. So, head along to these funky little markets and see if you can find some hidden gems. The markets will be running June 2-4 from 10am-4pm.
