Overview
Eminem/Marshall Mathers/Slim Shady will be playing in Auckland in February 2014.
Rapture has been specially curated by Eminem and will mark his first appearance in New Zealand. It will also follow the release of his ninth album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, set for release on November 5, 2013. Of Eminem’s eight albums released in New Zealand, seven of them have shot to the number one position - spending a combined 227 weeks in the official NZ Top 40 Charts. If you think that’s impressive, he’s also a 13-time Grammy and Oscar winner, sold 80 million albums and 120 million singles worldwide, clocked up over 2.5 billion views online and came in second place at the 1997 Rap Olympics in Los Angeles. Oh, and he’s left handed, cuts his own hair and loves Taco Bell, Wendy’s and the film Scarface.
Playing alongside Eminem at Western Springs will be Odd Future (replacing Kendrick Lamar), the apprentice of Jay Z - J.Cole and local rapper David Dallas.
