Overview

Described as the most exciting comedian of his generation, Russell Brand is bringing his bag of bat sh** craziness to Auckland for the first time. Vector Area will play host to the former sex and drug addict who is also (for those of you who have been hiding under a rock) the former husband of Katie Perry and who played Willy Wonka in the 2012 London Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Since beginning his career as a stand-up comedian, he has been in Hollywood hits like Forgetting Sarah Marshal, Rock of Ages and Get Him to the Greek. Brand has also (somewhat controversially) hosted the MTV Movie Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards (twice) and released two books, the first of which, My Booky Wook: A Memoir of Sex, Drugs and Stand-Up – was in the New York Times best-seller list for five weeks in a row.

His show promises to unleash serious bouts of laughter and a myriad of personal details about his hectic life. Who knows, he might just dish the dirt on what happened with him and Ginger Spice after the Olympics!
