Overview

Master of the ballad, Smith has skyrocketed to fame. He first appeared to the world as the distinctive guest-vocalist on Disclosure’s endlessly popular tune 'Latch' and has gone from strength to strength. In May last year he released his debut album In The Lonely Hour which was met with huge acclaim; "Smith bares more than his vocal cords on this record. Every story of unrequited love that's been put to song is powerful in its own right" Billboard gushes.

He was nominated for six and won four Grammy’s at the Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year (Best New Artist, Record of the Year for Stay With ME, and Best Pop Vocal Album for In the Lonely Hour). He attributed these successes to the man who broke his heart in a speech which very nearly broke the internet. At the 2015 Brit Awards he also won the awards for British Breakthrough Act and Global Success.

Live, he is compelling. A Buzzfeed page (no doubt created by an overexcited teenage girl but worthy of mentioning nonetheless) talks about '21 Totally Transcendent Things that Happen at a Sam Smith Concert' and these include him opening with Nirvana during which “his voice is the aural equivalent of your most comforting sweater and a steamy mug of hot cocoa, filling you with immediate peace”. His reaching up to his first falsetto at which point “you are certain you will not make it out of this intimate evening alive”. And his performance of 'Leave Your Lover' which causes everyone in the audience to think “yes, fine, I’ll leave my lover, my job, my family, whatever, just please keep singing”

If that doesn’t sell you, nothing will. Don’t miss out on a transcendent experience of your own; grab your tickets now.
