Overview
Travelling feasts are a popular feature of Auckland Restaurant Month. Understandable, seeing the nomadic format allows diners to test out several eateries in one session. This year's edition of A Britomart Progressive Dinner will stop by four restaurants and watering holes in the downtown precinct to ticks off its overarching theme of foreign fare.
At Savour & Switch, diners will begin their night with a canapé and cocktail at contemporary Japanese haven Fukuko, before moving onward to Mexico for a fresh entrée and another cocktail. The main course will be served at modern Vietnamese restaurant Café Hanoi with wine. To finish, stumble across to Southern American joint Orleans for one last drink (or perhaps several) and down an outlandishly indulgent dessert.
The evening's start times will be staggered so that four groups of 20 can enjoy the same experience between 5.30-7.45pm. The $145pp ticket price includes canapés, three courses and four alcoholic beverages.
The seventh outing of Restaurant Month returns to Auckland's city centre from August 1-31 with over 100 special menus, 25 intriguing dining events, a host of visiting international chefs, and a whole lot more reasons to simply leave the house and eat.
