Overview

TDE swag-king Schoolboy Q is heading our way for a show at Auckland's Logan Campbell Centre on November 3, and if smooth talking hip-hop heads gets you going, you're in for a real treat. Tickets are available from July 19 and this is sure to be one of those gigs that nobody wants to miss. It won't be the rapper's first time in Auckland, he was here in 2014.

There's a few reasons why this event is sure to be a guaranteed booty shaker. Signed to Interscope Records as well as TDE, Schoolboy Q makes up one fourth of skilled super group Black Hippy, which also includes Jack Rock, Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul, who individually amaze but united astound.

The German-born, LA based rapper says he is influenced by Nas, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep, 2Pac, Biggie, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel and Wu-Tang, though stated in an interview with Complex magazine that he got his rapping style from Jay-Z, "If you really listen to Jay-Z, he has a new sound every time he raps. It's never the same. He might use a little swag, but it's always like a different flow. So that's all I try to do."

Born Quincy Matthew Hanley, Q has collaborated some of most favored hip hop artists of today. As well as the Black Hippy crew, he's featured alongside Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky, The Game, Rick Ross, Danny Brown and Action Bronson.

His album Oxymoron debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with hits 'Man of the Year', 'Break the Bank', 'Collard Greens', 'Hell of a Night' and 'Studio' charting on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. You can expect most of those successes being recreated in the flesh on November 3. We'll be there. Will you?
