Overview

The popular Short + Sweet Dance Festival concept began in theatre and soon moved into dance with festivals in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Malaysia among other places. It's a dance event featuring all styles, all genres and all abilities, but with one rule - no dances over 10 minutes!

Featuring over 100 performers, artists include hip hop group Wasabi Dance Crew and a solo by Atamira Dance Company choreographer Maaka Pepene. The winning one or two works selected at the gala final on the last night is invited to perform at the Australian Short + Sweet Festival.

If unsure, head along to the free preview at the Auckland Art Gallery on Wednesday, February 8 2012. A perfect opportunity to try before you buy, and experience what is promised to be an eclectic showcase of some of the best short dance works in hip-hop, belly dancing, Bollywood, circus aerial work and many others.
