Overview

Show Me Shorts is an annual celebration of short format film from local and international film makers. This year the festival will kick off its 10th anniversary with an awards ceremony at the Civic Theatre in Auckland and the Paramount in Wellington. The entire festival spans the whole of the country, scattered across both the North and South Island at 22 different locations. So no matter where you are you can catch a few of the screenings.

Short films tend to mimic the addiction one finds when watching a TV series on Netflix. Short, sweet and entertainingly time consuming. The lineup for this year's festival is no exception, promising a variety of genres, styles and complexities. Ones to watch out for include light hearted stop motion animation The Story Of Percivil Pilts out of Australia, local comedy Return, which follows a young man juggling his friends, parents, magic mushrooms and several thousand chickens, and the New Zealand premiere of Cub, a film where people and their complexities are the starring elements in the storyline.

This festival starts on November 12 and runs through to the 22nd. The full programme can be found on the Show Me Shorts website.
