Shut Up & Dance isn't your average choreography lesson. The Wellington-based company teaches routines inspired by films and music videos. Want to learn the moves to Beyonce's 'Single Ladies'? How about Napolean Dynamite's talent show performance or the iconic Dirty Dancing routine? You've come to the right place.

In thick of the COVID-19 lockdown the dance crew is taking its lessons online. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm and Saturdays at 10am, Shut Up & Dance will host free dance sessions on Instagram Live.

No coordination is required. The 30-minute classes are all about participating and how good it feels to dance. Each session will be a surprise — you'll learn the steps before finding out which banger you're dancing to in your own living room. Smiling and sweating is guaranteed.

You can book in for these free classes via the MindBody app or through the Shut Up & Dance website.
