Overview

Experimental alt-rockers Sigur Ros return to our shores for the first time in a decade this July. The pride of Iceland, Sigur Ros is known for their fusion sound, comprising minimalist, classical and electronic elements into their unique soundscape. This time around, the three piece band are bringing their full stage production to Auckland's Spark Arena for an evening of audible wizardry, which will feature two sets, an intermission and a spectacular lightshow to accompany their raw sound.

After the success of their 1997 debut album, Von, the award-winning band has produced seven albums, and had tracks featured on Game of Thrones, 127 Hours and Captain Fantastic. With the imminent release of their yet to be named eighth studio album, produced by Grammy Award winning producer John Congeton, their latest offering to the musical gods is said to be a new exploration of sound, though how that would be possible, we can only wait in anticipation. With the set list to feature classic back catalogue favourites, and soon to be released gems, the band will hit the stage Friday 21 July.
