Overview

Every Aucklander knows that it’s truly time to celebrate summer when the beloved Silo Cinema once again graces our waterfront. Returning in full force this Friday 5 December at 9pm, Silo Cinema kicks off the season with a tribute to a late legend of modern cinema.

The one and only Robin Williams stars in Good Morning, Vietnam, which tells the story of Adrian Cronauer - an unorthodox and irreverent radio DJ who shakes things up when he is assigned to the US Armed Services Radio station in Vietnam.

Accompanied by the equally terrific Silo Markets, gather some likeminded friends and make a night of it with the markets serving great food, art, crafts and the like to keep you entertained before the lights go down. With the Silo Park container bar on hand to pour a nifty selection of local craft beer and wine, the scene is set for one sweet night under the stars as one marvels at the genius of Mr. Williams.

Just remember to bring a cushion – two hours cross-legged on the Silo lawn will have you experiencing some serious pins and needles, which no amount of craft beer can remedy.
