Overview

One of the coolest free events to hit our big little city, Silo Cinema is back for 2018, kicking things off by beaming the New Zealand doco Spookers onto the big screen at Silo Park.

Set within the confines of the deeply terrifying carnival spook house which operates out of a derelict psychiatric hospital in south Auckland's Kingseat, in Spookers German-Kiwi director Florian Habicht takes a look at the people behind the ghoulish make-up to find a paradoxically charming safety — where those too shy for daylight find strength in the characters portrayed at this night-time horror house.

BYO blankets, rugs and beanbags, but be sure to leave the eats to the professionals, with eight fantastic food trucks on site including Olas Latin Food, Philippe's Poutine and Wise Boy Burgers.

The site is open from 4.30-11.30pm. The film begins at 9pm.
