Overview

After the recent cyclonic weather, we have all but accepted that summer is no longer with us. As a reminder of the good times, Silo Park's Friday night screenings are giving one last opportunity to embrace the summer vibe. Celebrating the occasion with people's choice, Silo left the public to decide which movie should round out the series. Leading the pack from the beginning were Wonder Woman and Labyrinth, both of which were rained out of their earlier scheduled screenings. Eventually, Jim Henson's 1986 Labyrinth took out the top spot by just 20 votes. With David Bowie's timeless performance as the Goblin King, the cult classic's win is less than surprising.

Paired with a range of Auckland's favourite food trucks from 4.30pm, this is the perfect wallet friendly Friday night. Thanks to the end daylight saving time, the movie now begins at 8.00pm, leaving time for a stroll or a sneaky sweet treat after. From experience, even though the forecast is looking good, the waterfront location makes it a little colder than you would expect, so be sure to bring another layer or blanket for a lush experience.
