Overview

As the Silo Park program tapers off for another year, the organisers have scheduled a special globe-trotting culinary series to make the most of the warmer weather and the waterfront community space. Over four Saturdays in April the venue will host themed street food gatherings, traversing Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Kicking off on Sunday 8 April will be a journey to the old continent. From midday hungry visitors can expect to wolf down authentic French crepes, Turkish gozleme, Hungarian fried bread, German sausages and a Sunday roast neatly packaged into a hand-held wrap. Themed drinks will be pouring at the bar and DJ Klassix from Paris will be playing classic European tunes to match.

The following week will jump the Atlantic to Latin America with Argentinean barbecue, tacos direct from Tierra Azteca, Venezuelan arepas, Latin-inspired sandwiches, gourmet empanadas and traditional Brazilian snacks.

Then, it's up to the land of the free with Nashville hot fried chicken, sweet American dessert pies, pimped hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches served from a Land Rover and low 'n' slow 'Murican barbecue.

The lineup for the Southeast Asia finale on Sunday 29 April will include contemporary Chinese steamed buns, Japanese takoyaki and handmade dumplings.
