Overview

The first Silo Session for 2015 returns with the crowd favourite, Friends and Whanau Festival. Kicking off at midday in the waterfront hub, the event will feature tunes from internationally renowned DJ and Member of the British Empire, Noman Jay.

The UK DJ first came to prominence playing warehouse parties in the early and is credited with putting British club culture on the world map. His refusal to be restricted to one single genre has earned him the titles of "the people's DJ" and "the DJ's DJ" and he is also commonly attributed to coining the phrase 'rare groove'.

Jay will be joined by local acts Hudge and The Turnaround featuring Manuel Bundy, Cian and Submariner. As well as the action on the stage, the Silo Markets will be open for business with Maori and Pasifika-themed arts, objects and fashions, plus street food on offer. The Silo Park Bar will be pouring the local craft beers and wines into the sunset.
