Overview

A colourful exploration of sound and culture will light up Silo Park on Saturday 28 February, as World Together makes its yearly outing. The free showcase of sights and sounds features an eclectic line-up of international musicians and performers from every corner of the globe.

Last here 12 months ago, American cassette DJ Awesome Tapes From Africa (aka Brian Shimkovitz), travels the world with a suitcase full of tapes he sourced traveling across Africa. His song selection traverses everything from highlife, fuji, benga, tsonga disco, soukous, hip-hop, rhumba and ethio-soul.

He will be joined by Melbourne DJ Lewis CanCut, spacecraft techno DJ Courtesy from Denmark, Auckland electro dream-pop artist Chelsea Jade, synth mogul Leonard Charles in Africa, Fat Freddy's Drop DJs MC Slave and Hopepa and the exotic live project of Nick D and Dick Johnstone, Weird Together.

Silo Park will also throw down a spread of international food and boutique stalls.
