Overview

Waterfront eatery Ostro will bounce back to the decade of decadence this weekend until mid-August as pop-up restaurant Sneaky Snacky lands on the deck. The nostalgic pop-up is the brainchild of Min Seak Kang, the current Senior Chef at The Sugar Club and creator of Orphans Kitchen's JANCHI, collaborative Korean pop-up dinner.

For his latest month-long dining venture, Kang will lean on '80s culture, spotlighting 'vaporwave' meme video art and music from the vibrant era. The space will be replete with VHS remakes from Korea, Japan and Hong Kong, while the menu will be led by kitschy Asian-inspired street foods.

The Glaze Donut Burger is the headlining menu item. It comes stacked with a wagyu patty, kimchi tempura, Thai basil, bacon and cheddar sandwiched between a doughnut bun. Then there's the Black Dog, a cylindrical, charcoal-coated snack filled with mozzarella, gherkins and sausage. There will also be Korean fried chicken with smoked gochujang sauce for the street food purists, and seaweed-seasoned taro chips with miso dip.

Find Sneaky Snacky on the Ostro Deck from 20 July to 18 August, 2018.
