Overview

Over 100 acts will take the stage at New Zealand’s longest running music, art and performance festival and this year. And in true Splore form, the bill brings together an eclectic range of genres, including folk-inflected indie rock, charismatic blues, dancefloor-friendly ska-dub and lo-fi soul.

The beachside festival will play host to 16 international acts. Making their way across international waters for the all-ages, family-friendly event will be London progressive house pioneers Leftfield, Alabama indie-songwriter Waxahatchee off the back of her third album, Adelaide hip hop artist Tkay Maidza, the UK's hottest hip hop export Little Simz, Berlin punk/cabaret performer Bonaparte, Melbourne neo-soul group Hiatus Kaiyote, Brazilian reggae/hip hop lyricist BNegao and Italian electro swing DJ, Dr Cat. A fantastic spread of local acts round out the lineup, including crowd favourites and up-and-coming wonders.

In addition to the music, the event will be awash with art installations to provide an interactive art experience for the audience; hand-on workshops including Indian head massage, yoga, unicycle riding, flamenco dancing and sustainability; performance art spanning clowning, acrobatic acts and neon-lit dancers, and a secret destination cocktail bar.

And if that doesn't appeal, you could always just lie back and watch the action unfold from the idyllic beach or take a dip in the warm lagoon onsite. Either way, you’d better prepare for a crazy packed three days.
